Michael Habern Jr. graduated from Midway High School in 1991. He is a native Wacoan, and is the owner of Waco Jewelers. After high school, he obtained an associate of arts and a science degree in jewelry technology. He also learned jewelry manufacturing, casting, design, repair, diamond, and stone setting. Michael received a gemologist degree from Paris Junior College, and graduated top of his class.
Upon completion of his gemology degree, Michael was accepted into the American Institute of Diamond Cutting, and earned two degrees in diamond cutting. He then enrolled in the world-known, highly-accredited Gemological Institute of America (G.I.A.) located in Santa Monica, California; where he received degrees in diamonds, diamond grading, gem identification, colored stones, colored stone grading, and the highly-accredited Graduate Gemologist Degree.
Michael also attended gemology classes in Boston, Massachusetts, and New York, NY. he then attended residence studies in London, England, and learned the various aspects of diamond and colored stone buying on the international market. Michael also became a member of The National Association of Jewelry Appraisers.
He decided to start his business practice in Waco because of the growing Waco economy. "I believe that Waco offers a ground floor opportunity for new business" he said. "There is a desperate need for qualified, educated jewelers within the retail, and manufacturing jewelry industry."
Michael is available for diamond and gemstone consultations, jewelry design, special orders, jewelry repair, jewelry manufacturing, and diamond and gemstone setting. He also stocks various selections of diamonds, colored stones, diamond jewelry, wedding jewelry, colored stone jewelry, and 14k gold and sterling silver jewelry and watches.
